We are rejoicing here! Our 9 yo dd and 6 yo ds both accepted Christ as Savior this weekend! My daughter accepted Christ at age 3, but cannot remember it and felt the need to make sure of her salvation. My son wept as he prayed to receive Jesus with Daddy tonight. How precious to have them be brothers and sisters in Christ, too!
We are overjoyed and I wanted to share that blessed news with all of my friends here. Please rejoice with us!
Both children were baptized this morning – what a blessing!
Unfortunately, I missed it. I was letting the baby sleep after a sleepless night of coughing and baby and I arrived 5 minutes late for church to find that my son had already been baptized and my daughter exiting the baptismal pool. I was so upset that I just turned around and came home to cry. I was so frustrated, angry and sad to miss such a momentous occasion. The baptisms are usually done at the end of our service, so I didn’t realize today would be different. But, God is good and through prayer and spending time in the Word, I’ve let go of the frustration and anger I initially felt and am content to know that this was a special day in their walk with the Lord. I’m still a bit sad that I missed it, though.
Thank you wonderful ladies for sharing in our happiness. I feel like you are old friends.
Christie, I can understand why you are sad to have missed this momentous occasion, but you were doing God’s work by being with your baby and that is just as if not more important. I am glad you are getting over missing the event, sometimes life is like that, but you were doing something very important and had you been there with a fractious baby, you may still have missed it. Be blessed in the knowledge that your children have been babtized and that is the most important thing. Hope you enjoyed the celebration anyway. Linda
