I had my gallbladder removed on Thursday and I am 15 weeks pregnant. I am so down and out right now. I was struggling before surgery and it just seems like I am in a lot of pain right now and am getting a bit depressed. Have any of you had this surgery before and if so how long did recovery take? Is there anyway to get rid of the gas that is stuck inside my abdomen besides walking? I am walking around as much as I can but it just doesn’t seem to be helping 🙁
Oh, Nina! Do you have the help you need? I cannot give you any info on how long it will take to heal, but I will pray for you and if you need a call, pm me and I will call you and encourage you in any way that I can!
Jesus, strengthen Nina, Lord, please relieve her pain. So cover her in your love and care for her that her depression totally dissipates. Give her the peace that passes all understanding and allow that peace to flow out onto her husband and children. Please use them to meet Nina’s needs at this time, no matter how young her littlest is. I pray you would bring her the help that she needs from friends and family. I ask that you would cover their home in quiet and rest. You are the great Physician; thank you for putting Nina in a time in history where her physical ailments can be resolved; for that we are so very thankful. Now, Lord, we ask for a speedy recovery. We trust you and thank you that you do all things well, and that you cause all things to work together for good. I pray that Nina would see this as a good gift from a heavenly Father that loves her beyond what we can even imagine. Amen.
I had mine out a couple of years ago right after a c-section and surgery on my ankle. The gall bladder was completely pain free in 3 days – I was amazed! Other people kept telling me that but I thought they were “crazy’ =) I had a friend bring the dissolvable gas-x pills and they were nasty, but they helped a lot. The incisions still took a while to heal, but I was still able to take care of my four kiddos. Good luck!
Nina I just had emergency gallbladder removal in Jan. They had to put me under a second time to get a gallstone that had escaped so that prolonged recovery a bit. But I was for the most part pain free in about 4-5 days. The gas – walk , walk, walk. I had it really bad after both my c-sections. It is just trapped and because your “insides” are still waking from the anesthesia they can’t help a lot to get it out. So the walking increases circulation, thus helping to wake your body up. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Cindy and my3boys… thank you so much for your prayers. And anyone else who prayed 🙂
I am still feeling sore but am doing better than the day I first wrote. My middle incisions are still hurting the worst. They are swollen too. I don’t know if the extra weight from the baby/fluid/ect in my uterus has to do with it or not. But it just seems like there is alot of pulling 🙁 My hubby took me to Motherhood and bought a support band and that helps tremendously if I have to stand for awhile. But it is uncomfortable to sit in 🙁
Anyway, just wanted to check in and say thanks 🙂
