After assuming we’d be looking at French curriculum for this year because we are Canadian, it turns out our boys would rather learn Spanish. Quite frankly, so would I.  I’ve always loved the Spanish language and culture. Can anyone recommend a good beginning program for 4th and 7th graders?  I’ve looked at The Easy Spanish and Adventure Spanish and both look promising.  Do you have experience with either?  Do you like something else better?

I think we are gonna do the Rosetta Stone Spanish when DS is in fourth grade! For earlier grade im not sure. Im currently looking for a spanish speaking person to converstate with my DS on a regular basis!

We like La Clase Divertida. It is DVD based with additional workbooks and tapes. Honestly with mine (this is the second time we have been through it with kids) I am just ignoring the workbooks. I like that you feel like part of their class on the DVD and it is very family-oriented.

My olders did well with Speedy Spanish 1. I appreciate that it has native speakers and it doesn’t break the bank. 😉

We used tapes (you now have cd option), wkbk, extra practive wkshts, test and key.

My 2nd grader is using the Primer, and I will move her to SS1 when done.

We are very pleased with our French Curriculum, published by http://www.mfbp.org/. They also have a Spanish version I’d think is just as wonderful.

Thanks.  I’ll look into some of these.  Anyone know anything about Adventures Spanish?  I can’t find any reviews.
