MamaSnow ParticipantLooking for reccomendation of any living books about marine mammals. To be read to a 2nd grader with a couple of preschoolers listening in.
Thanks,
Jen
nerakr ParticipantThe Smithsonian Oceanic series.
They’re available other places; this is the only place I know that has the complete list in one place. Haven’t read these yet; we’re doing marine animals next year, but we loved the Smithsonian Backyard series.
missceegee ParticipantI second the Smithsonian Oceanic series – they’re terrific! Many can be found on paperbackswap.
Also, I forget if I have any by Jim Arnosky on marine animals, but we love all of his animal books.
@nerakr – Thanks for the list!
MamaSnow ParticipantThanks ladies – I’ll check those out.
Jen
Wings2fly ParticipantWe enjoyed the three Dolphin books by Wayne Grover. I recommended them on the Pagoo thread posted a few days ago. You might check there also.

momtomany ParticipantA small chapter book that I loved, loved, loved when I was young (read it to myself several times in about grade 4 or 5) is called Shark Lady by Ann McGovern. It’s a biography about Eugenie Clark.
(I just found it at a used homeschool book sale and I felt lucky, lucky, lucky because now I can read it to my own kids).
CoastalCarol MemberWe recently enjoyed Far from Shore: Chronicles of an Open Ocean Voyage by Sophie Webb.
I have found this science book list helpful. The list is secular so please preview individual titles for appropriateness for your family.
