So I am looking for some recipes either from web sites or books.  I want the recipes to be natural; you know made from scratch.  I don’t want ones that say “can cream mushroom soup”.  I want 1 lb beef, 3 onions, etc.  You get it.  I was at the library and all I find are the “quick” books I call them.

So where do you get your good recipes from?

One of my favorite websites that I return to again and again for simple, “made-from-scratch” recipes is:

    http://www.thefamilyhomestead.com

On the page entitled “The Homestead Kitchen“, you will find Crystal Miller’s delicious family recipes that she uses to feed her own 8 children.

Probably a good 1/3 of the recipes I make at home have come from her web site, because like you mentioned above, I like cooking with “real” ingredients, but I do not have the time or the desire to be a gourmet chef every night. 😉

I wanted to second Anna’s post we have loved everything from that site and it is always right on.  Never have to do anything.  It’s like taking your mom’s recipe it’s always perfect.

Rodale Wholefoods Cookbook. 😀 It’s scrumptious and worth every penny I paid for it. They have a couple more down that line I’d love to obtain someday..
