Has anyone used Real Science 4 Kids for 7th through high school?
I have heard great things about this curriculum and I am thinking it may be better for us than Apologia, which I hear is difficult at times thus needing a lot of tweeking.
My son is hands-on learning and not that much of a reader or workbook style learner. My daughter, I believe, is showing the same style of learning though she is not ADHD at all. I just want a FUN science course, something that will hold their attention and recall abilities.
I’m reviving this question…I am revising our school year (yes, one week before we start!!!) and for my non-science 11th grade dd, I am feeling that the Apologia Chemistry will be way too heavy. I did purchase Real Science 4 Kids Level 2 for my 9th grader but the revised high school edition is not ready yet and apparantly this edition is light for a high school science. Anybody else out there have a similar situation? Was it enough? If you tweaked, what did you use?
I’d really appreciate some great insightful replies!!!
Check out Noeo Science level 3 – or Biology 101 ( I think they have chem now as well) Our overseeing school district OK’d Bio 101 for a base line Science 10 and even 11 if I added in a few extra projects..My non science son did quite well with it and my daughter loved Noeo. Noeo is more pricey but comes with all the supplies etc, or you could gather them on your own. 101 is a DVD based program, very do able, we liked them both.
Oooh, I found something! Wes Olsen’s DVD set called Chemistry 101. Queen Homeschool used to carry these DVD’s but I don’t see any upper level science anymore on their site. Found it at both AIG and Amazon! This sounds perfect!
