Ok Ladies I excitedly checked out 15 books from the library from the early years list.  some for 3’s and some for 4and 5’s.  I am ready to dig in and have fun!!  a few questions though.  Should I have these books available to them at all times or keep them in my room to pull one or two at a time for readings throughout the day?  I did a cleanning out of our bookshelf to relieve the kidos of any access to “twaddle”. must admit it is very sad at the few books left who made the cut.     My girls are 6, 3,and 3 (twins)

My plan (so far) for the first week will be:    Math

daily 20 min or so leson in math u see primar. (almost done with it so will be getting the alpha after that)

                                                                Language Arts:

Reading at least three times a day and once more at night time with daddy  (He always reads them a story before bed).  some narrarating as well b/c I tried for fun with my just turned six year old and she loves he idea of retelling me the story.   She will also be hand writting the verses we are memorizing. Even though they are short verses I thought it would be a good way to get handwritting in as well as a great tool for memorizing.   I will be ordering the DR program but need to save up for it.  I have magnet letters and foam puzzles as well as leap frog games for the twins to practice letter recognition and sounds.

                                                                   Science

We are starting a nature study.  I really need to look more into the companion nature study that SCM has guess I have been a little obsessed with how to get Language ARts going.  I thought maybe we would start with identifying plants and bugs.  We have a mild winter in Texas and a lot of rain as of late so it feels like spring already for us.

                                                                Music

For fun we are going to listen to works from Beethoven.  I know they are young but I really want them to be exposed to classical and fall in love with it.     they will be taking ballet and tap as well.   at leaste the 6 year old will.. I am thinking the twins will just practice with sis at home

                                                                Art

easy for us.  we will paint and color and work with play dough.

Please Please. any suggestiong for me ? bit scared  to put away all “box” and organized curriculum and trust myself and my kids to take off.  But the more and more I read Charlotts works and your comments the more I know this IS for us and feel so blessed to find it now.

Looks like loads of fun for you and the kids! Your excitement is jumping off the page as I read your post 🙂

If you continue to be that excited about teaching, your kids will be excited about learning! Just don’t forget to let them be little. 🙂 Mine are growing up WAY too fast!
