Thanks so much for the trial subscription for the Organizer.  We think it’s great, so far (first day of using it)!

With several books for my older children, I expect them to read more than one chapter on a day.  How do I make this clear on the daily schedules?

I’m glad you’re enjoying the Organizer. You could approach the multiple chapters in a few ways.

    1. If you are going to allow them to read at their own pace, you can just check off as Finished as many chapters as they read each day.

    2. If you want to assign a certain number of chapters, you could add a note beside that assignment and detail which chapters you want them to read.

    3. You could enter the book as an Added Resource and, instead of putting chapter divisions, put Assignment as your division type. Then for Assignment 1, put “Chapters 1-3” in the division title field (or however many chapters you want them to read for each assignment).

    Does that make sense?

Thanks, Sonya.  That makes perfect sense.  I’ll have to experiment to see which method works best for us.

Since various things can “interfere” with how many chapters get read at once, I often just leave the chapters in the Organizer singly.  Then I simply add a post-it note inside the cover of the book to tell the child (or myself) how many chapters or pages to “aim for” in a reading.  Then I just make a quick note of how far we did get on the Organizer.
