I have some questions about the content in this book.  Actually, it’s about how the book is used in the first modual.  Is it used mostly for the pictures or is the content also used?  There were some controversial topics I noticed in the sample of material world (global warming to name one) and I would just like to know how the book is used before I make the investment.  I know we all view things differently and I’m not  judging anyone, I just want to know before I make the investment.

    Thanks,

    Rebekah

The descriptions of each family’s life are read, along with looking at the photos, but the essays that present Menzel’s worldview are skipped.

We just used the pictures and read the captions mostly, and a little bit about the family and country.  But we skipped the essays, too.  My kids LOVED looking at the pictures and seeing how many toys other kids have.  It has really helped as we’ve been decluttering and getting rid of tons of their toys over the past couple of years.  😉

Thanks for responding.  Your imput really helps!

The new edition looks very intriguing.  So much so that I want to buy it despite the fact that I own the old one.

SCM team, thanks for bringing so many awesome resources our way (and inexpensively, I might add.)  You help make educating our children a joy!!
