So here’s a question for those of you who have Playmobil for your kids….have you ever glued the houses/buildings together permanently? I bought each of my kids a set for Christmas that came with some sort of a structure but although the kids love the Playmobil the houses just don’t seem to stay together well. They still play with the people, animals and other accessories but I started just collecting the building pieces into a basket in the closet because the were not really of any play value scattered around.
I was thinking of glueing the buildings back together but not sure what type of glue would hold well ?
We have only the original German made Playmobil and they hold together really well – I think they are made in China now, and so that may be part of the issue. Just like the Schleich animals which used to be German made, and now are Chinese and nowhere near the quality. We never needed to glue them, but if you can find UHU over here that is fantastic glue on plastic – they do specialist glues for different surfaces as well, at least they do in Germany. I got some from GermanDeli.com a while back – I would not want to be without it. Good luck.
Haven’t ever thought of gluing the structures together permanently. We don’t have much Playmobil and haven’t really had a problem with the structures staying together. My dd has the ice cream shop, however, and the flowers are constantly falling off the stems…that, I might consider gluing together!
Great idea! I grew up with Playmobil( actually lived for 15 years about 10 miles from the headquater and production site ;)) but I never thought about glueing certain pieces together! I would hot glue it, I use hot glue on everything *lol*
