Is the teacher’s book necessary? $94 is a lot right now for grammar, and I’m thinking the student book would be enough for us. Has anyone used this without the TM?
LindseyDParticipantWhere are you buying this from? I bought the teacher book and student manual for less than $40, and that wasn’t on sale. I bought from CBD.
momto2blessingsParticipantIt could be done, but I personally wouldn’t want to take the time to grade without it. I know I’d miss things and it already takes enough time to grade and correct. Just me:)
I did sell my teacher guide when done with it…
LindseyDParticipantI wouldn’t do without the TM either, unless you are very good at grammar and remember everything and more from high school/college English. I am a grammar nerd and love everything about it, but it’s been a while since I’ve had to find a participial phrase and diagram it, ya know what I mean?

That is a link to buy just the TM and student workbook for $39.95. The $95 product I think you’re looking at is the Analytical Grammar set. That is for late jr. high/high school students. You don’t need the Mechanics book or the DVDs. After talking with several moms who have used this program with much success, they all told me that for ages 9-12ish or even a bit older, the TM and student workbook are plenty.
Paula SpicerParticipantOk thanks, I’ll get it. I was confused about the difference between the $39 and the $95. I’ll get the $39 one.
