Could I ask yet another question about your term schedule? What is the Youth Bible Study NB? I saw this on Amazon but could not figure out exactly what it was used for.
Thanks so much for posting all that info – it has been a blessing for us!
It’s an inductive Bible Study for children. It was published by Sonlight, but is now out of print. It’s written as a workbook, but used copies are available. Lindafay has a file in her forum that has it partially. I’m in the midst of completely retyping it for my kids because my copy came written in. If interested, pm me your email.
Oh, I’m interested! By the way – the Bible bee studies are FABULOUS!!!! inductive Bible studies. I love them and you’re supposed to be able to get them at your local Christian book store and they are made for different ages, but you can all study the same book at different levels – really love them!
I’ve emailed Sonlight about the copyright. I’ll just give a brief overview here.
It has 14 different study methods, each followed with scriptures to study with that method. They are broken into short (5-10m) and long (15-20 or 20-30m) sections.
The short sections include:
Dig In – studying 1-2 verses
Wise Up – studying proverbs
Sing Along – studying psalms
The Navigator – studying prophecy
The Surveyor – surveying the rest of Scripture
The Watchman – meditating on a passage
The long sections:
Manhunt – studying a person’s life
Day in Court – studying the Law
Get That Story! – studying history passages
The Postal Inspector – studying Bible letters
The Forecaster – studying prophecy
The University – studying great lessons
Story Time – Studying Jesus’ parables
The Detective – Studying a Book
Also includes a Logbook to track your studying.
Each section guides you in types of questions to ask. Here are partial examples of 3 sections.
Dig In will show you how to look deeply into a few Bible verses.
CHECK OFF EACH PASSAGE WHEN COMPLETED.
James 4:7, 8
I Peter 5:5, 6
Romans 10:9-11
James 5:16
How to begin – Select a verse or verses to study. Look up that passage and answer the two questions about it.
Jerusalem Post: Apostle Disappears From Prison, Guards Face Court Martial ❏ Acts 12:1-19
Samaritan Daily Mirror: RELIGIOUS REVIVAL AT SYCHAR, Local Woman Evangelizes Town ❏ John 4:3-30, 39-42

Get That Story – A news reporter tries to get all the facts about an event. GTS asks the five basic questions every newspaper reporter must ask: who, when, where, what, and why.
How to begin – Choose a passage to study. Read the passage carefully, looking for the answers to the five basic questions. Few historical passages will contain answers to all of the questions, so answer the ones that you can.
Read the passage looking for all the things a reporter looks for: who, when, what, and why.
WHO is involved?
WHEN did this event take place?
Is the day or hour given?
What comes before or after this event?
WHERE did the action take place?
Country, province, and city:
Geography or landmarks:
Other information:
WHAT took place?
WHY did this event take place?
WHAT can I learn from the passage?
THE LAWS – Day in Court
READ EACH PAIR OF PASSAGES AND CHECK OFF WHEN COMPLETED.
Deuteronomy 5:16 and Ephesians 6:1-3
Leviticus 19:18 and Matthew 5:43-48
Leviticus 24:19,20 and Matthew 5:38,39
Day in Court is an examination of the rules and regulations which God gave the Israelites.
How to begin – Choose a law and look it up. If the law has been done away in some other part of the Bible, that reference will be given too. After you read about the law, answer the questions.
3. Has this law been done away in some other part of Scripture? (See second reference.)
4. What does the New Testament teach on this principle?
5. What can I learn from this law?
The book is 190 pages and designed to be written in. Most sections have 8-9 passages or groups of passages to look up. There are 5 leading chapters that are titled:
1. That Old Book?
2. Why Study the Bible?
3. How to study the Bible?
4. What’s in the Bible?
5. How to Use this Book. (14 methods explained, I’ve listed the 3 examples above.)
I like this book and am looking forward to using it. It is a great step in learning how to study the Bible long term, imo. I hope that helps you understand. I did retype the pages for my kids because my copy is written in partially. I won’t share that file due to copyright issues unless I get the ok from Sonlight.
