The x means a subject would most likely be studied for that year/grade level – like Beginning Reading only has an x for grades 1 and 2, but Personal Developement is something done every year. I’m not seeing the A symbol you asked about though.
I too wondered what those meant (on my screen it’s an A with an inverted v on top). I assumed they mean not applicable, for example, the A is in grades 3-12 on beginning reading, and not in the earlier grades. But in English/Grammar there is Gentle Intro in 2nd and 3rd, then an A in 4th and 7th grade, and not any other A’s.
Mine also has this on the History Modules: Modules 1aE”6(only stranger looking than that). I assumed that means 1-6 but the computer was having a hard time with the
dakich95, maybe our computer settings need changed to be able to see the guide differently?
I just tried clicking and dragging the cursor over any blank areas that I see on the guide and something does highlight, that must be the A symbol ya’ll are seeing. Could your internet browser need to be updated?
I have not been able to duplicate the problem so far. If any of you are still seeing this please let me know exactly which page it’s on. Also try loading the page again and see if it changes. Thanks.
Those characters should not be there and it should work fine logged in or not. Though if it’s different when logged in that’s a good clue for me to track down the problem.
@my3boys, Can you paste in the exact page URL (address) you are seeing this on so I can check it out? Also what Web browser software and version are you using? Thanks.
These symblols are also showing up for me. On the Guide Page where there should be blanks are these funny A’s  and then in the history, scripture memory, literature, picture study, music study and hymn study areas there are even more odd symbols: a lower case a with a v on top and a upper case C with two slash marks in it, â€. They are only on this page when I am logged in. On the history module page these last two symbols show up everywhere regardless of being logged in or not. I’m using IE8 on Win7. I believe the problem is your character sets, you should check your content type, IMHO.
I know what they are talking about, and this is a copy-n-paste of what it looks like (just one sample row from the Curriculum Guide chart), without the gridlines, of course:
