How often is this designed to be used? Daily? Weekly? We’re looking at using these books along with Galloping the Globe in a year-long world geography study. My son really wants to learn about other countries and cultures. Has anyone used these outside of the history guides?
They’re designed to be used weekly, but we do daily map review just because my son likes naming all the countries. Most often, you map a few new countries and then read a book about one of the countries. The other lessons involve making a map or using Material World or Hungry Planet to get to know a family.
I am struggling to find a free online copy of The British Empire and the Great Divisions of the Globe for our visits to Europe. I have logged into google books and it says not available to download….It seems if I go to abebooks I could get a copy printed in India and sent here to UK for £10 but I would prefer to get a free copy online…any ideas? Thanks!
We read it online. I know that’s not optimal but it works. It’s rather a pain because I have to pull it up and then find our place each time. I suppose one could always skip this part of the curriculum if necessary. It would still be a very rich study with the other books used and the mapwork.
Hi Davinia! I am so sorry that I forgot to reply. You know how it is, you read on your phone, plan on responding next time you’re on the computer and then totally forget!
I was having my devotions this morning when I suddenly remembered your request! I jumped right on the computer so I wouldn’t forget again!
