Question about this book – Canada: The Struggle for Empire …

I noticed on the SCM website this book entitled – Canada: The Struggle for Empire (author: Luella Bruce Creighton).  The table of contents listed looks very interesting.  We’re from Canada and would like to study more of the history about our country. The book is actually out of print.  I have an opportunity to purchase it and have it mailed to us; however, I don’t know what the book is really like, and can’t seem to find out any more information about it. 

Thought I would ask on this forum if any of you have read the book or seen it, and have a sense of what it is like?  … ie: is it more of a factual book, or does it have actual *stories* about people/places/events in Canada’s history which would be interesting/captivating to a child (or even to an adult!). And does anyone know anything about her other few books about Canada?  … just curious if they would be a help to us in studying about our great country.
