    Hello!

I am using the free 30 day trial of the SCM organizer and, so far, am loving it! I have one question please: I looked at the future wishlist items. When it says that people would like to add notes into the resource scheduler, does that mean that we would be able to add more specific things when we choose a resource from bookfinder? As far as I can tell, if you choose a resource that’s already in bookfinder, you can only add chapters but if we can eventually add notes to the resource secheduler, would we be able to add page numbers? Or if we wanted to add notes to our children about a particular assignment ahead of time, we would be able to do that? For instance, Story of the Romans only has chapters 1 – 102 in the scheduler but I want my son to read chapters 1 – 8 in one week, 9 – 17 the next week, etc; would I be able to note that if this feature were a reality? Thanks so much!

The idea of that feature is to allow us to add notes to any assignment/division in the book, not just the current two or three that show up in the Daily Plan. So if the book were showing in the Scheduler, you would be able to add a note to chapter 1, say, that says something like “Read chapters 1-8 this week.” And you could add a note to chapter 9 that says, “Read chapters 9-17 this week.” The notes can say anything you want them to say.

Another future feature that might also work in this situation is the ability to edit books that are in the Bookfinder and save the edited version as a personal resource. In that case, you could change the divisions from chapters to pages if you wanted to.

In the meantime, I can think of two ways to approach this:

    1. Just post a list that tells your sons how many/which chapters to read each week, and mark them off as he completes them. With this approach you don’t have to change anything in the resource; just check off the chapters as you go along.

    OR

    2. Add a Resource that has the title Story of the Romans and call the Division type “Assignment” or “Week,” whichever you prefer. Then Add divisions like this:

    1 Chapters 1-8

    2 Chapters 9-17

    etc.

This approach will result in the Daily Plan reading something like “Assignment 1: Chapters 1-8” or “Week 1: Chapters 1-8.”
