I was looking through the Genesis-Deuteronomy & Ancient Egypt lesson book and noticed that it doesn’t specifically instruct you to ask for an oral narration after the historical fiction books, such as The Golden Goblet or Boy of the Pyramids, or on some family books such as The Great Pyramid or Pharaoh’s Boat.  Are these books just read and discussed without a formal narration?  What do you do with these books?

We do not require narrations from fiction books, including historical fiction. While we want the student to enjoy the fictionalized account of a historical person or event, narrating it could potentially cause the student to remember the fictionalized parts as true facts. There are plenty of opportunities for your child to narrate using the nonfiction books. 🙂

    Thanks, Karen!  That makes sense.
