Any one use these, look at these or have any thoughts on these? I’m thinking about switching from Mathusee to math lessons for a living education…http://www.queenhomeschool.com/bookpage/bookframe.html, for my 1st grader, and maybe life of fred elementary, apples for my 4th grader who will be just finishing Alpha. http://www.queenhomeschool.com/productpages/mathlifeoffred/fredmainframe.html

And thinking about going to life of fred pre-algebra with biology for my 7th grade son who will be finishing zeta.

Anyone with any information, or thoughts?

I can’t compare any of it to Math U See because we only did Saxon until First Grade then I ditched everything and did living math without any curriculum. We love{d} it. My eldest is entering an area that I felt the need to put him back into formal math. Amazingly enough he was able to do his grade leven and beyond which really thrilled me.

Having said that.. He’s in Grade 4 {all though strattles the line with 5th as well depending on subjects} and is doing Life Of Fred Fractions And Decimals this year. He has a great grasp on fractions, can multiply, divide, etc. He’s ready for it and LOVES Fred days. 😀

I think the elemengary ones would be lacking for him, but then I know what his level{s} and strengths are. So that might make a difference. Have you looked into the first few chapters? If it were me, and it’s not, I would get elementary for my 1st grader and fractions for my 4th grader. Plus, if fractions were too hard you’d have the elementary to fall back on.

I have seen the Queen’s Living Math and I think it’s sweet and awesome and I would have loved it over Saxon or even winging it when we first let go of stuff, BUT, having said that we also really love Fred. I have NOT seen ementary Fred’s though. I will confess that I recently read a sour review about the elementary Fred’s Dog book. Basically it dealt with putting a dog to sleep. I don’t know if that happened in the end or if the story line was about Fred saving the dogs.. just a warning. 🙂 That’s one complaint out of a dozen or more people who’ve obtained the books. 😉
