I know I saw a topic not to long ago on purity books for girls (I thought) but I have 5 boys and would llike one for boys. I have one that is starting to need simple things like to shower daily, wear deoderant, etc. I would love a book to help us get through this new changing time.
Any suggestions welcome. Please only suggest if you’ve used the book. Some are NOT right for us and this is why I’m nervous to just buy anything.
My husband read Ryle’s Thoughts for Young Men with our oldest. He thought it was valuable. He also read Created for Work, though not with our sons, just for his own leadership. My oldest also read Young Man, Be Strong and thought it was worthwhile.
Highly recommend anything by Bob Schultz who is the author of Created for Work. All his books are from a biblical worldview.
He just passed away about a month ago due to a heart attack he experienced while at the Illinois homeschool conference. My son took it quite hard because he felt like he knew him from reading his books.
Young Man, Be Strong is by David Burkholder. It is a Rod and Staff book. Created for Work, I think we got through Timberdoodle. They are all Christian books.
Hey, Misty. I just noticed on Queens website that they have a new book on purity written by Sandi Queen called “the Boy and the Rose”. When I saw it, I thought of you-although I’m interested in it myself. I’m sorry that I have not used this yet -obviously. I know that Sandi Queen is very good at answering any questions that you may have about any of their products. I’ve had a few myself and she has been quick to respond.
Just thought I’d let you know about this incase you’re interested.
I’m shock to hear about Bob Schultz! I didn’t know he had recently passed. My prayers are with his family. I was going to suggest his books or Doorpost books.http://www.doorposts.net/
I found that there is a study for boys based on the book “The Squire and the Scroll”. It’s a wonderfull ook and now they have a discussion guide to go with it. There is also a giude for “The Princess and the Kiss” Here at rainvow resource:
