I’m planning out my homeschool library (that is which books I want to buy vs check out of the library).  I noticed the suggested leisure reading books are the same for all 6 modules (Material World; Hungry Planet; What I Eat).

In your opinion, are these books one should buy or just check out of the library?  From what I can tell online they seem like good books to flip through, potentially coffee table books.  Are they worth the price to invest in?

These are books that are great to have on hand. We keep them as coffee table books and are well worth the price, imho. We flip through them often.

We have all 3 now, but we got them from the library many times first.  I don’t think they are an essential purchase, especially not all at once.  I would think if you wanted to invest in one, it would be well used–my kids look at ours a LOT.  I think Material World and Hungry Planet are the easiest to relate to geography; for those really interested in food/diets then What I Eat is also excellent.

We checked ours out from the library. It made me want to buy them!

I would check them out of the library and make my decision after viewing them. What another person values may be different than what you value. I do have What I Eat out right now but I haven’t had time to look at it yet.
