Some of you may have figured out how I came up with my profile name. When I was a child, my father flipped our first names around and used the backward names as our nicknames. I added my last initial as well; I use a variation of this for email and several online accounts, and sometimes nerak is taken.
Shelly, we’re kindred spirits ;). I was wondering the same thing, you just beat me to it.
Actually my oldest ds came up with my profile name. CS simply stands for our little county town of Cedar Springs; Mamma, as opposed to Mama, is how he use to spell the word. 🙂
Well, mine really isn’t much of a mystery, as Shelly guessed. 😉 I was an early “signup” on the boards here so got first crack at the obvious CM mom name . . . LOL
I do love to sing, play the piano and write music 😀 I was on my way to entering the christian music industry when I made a decision. Instead of taking an opportunity to sing on a popular album I chose to go to a tiny bible college where I met my husband and here I am, 13 years later with a precious family. Several people in my family did not approve of my decision and never fail to share with me how much I have disappointed their plan for my life.
The name Mamasong reminds me that God is using His gift of music in me for more important things than fame and fortune. It’s to bring peace to my children’s hearts at bedtime. It’s for sharing His Glory with them in worship. It’s for fun times when we try to sing every song from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It’s for helping them fall back to sleep during big Texas thunderstorms. It wouldn’t even matter if I couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, He put a song in my heart for my children, thanks for wanting to know!
Hi, my missingtheshire, comes from the fact that I am English, from Stratford Upon Avon in Warwickshire – so I am just letting people know that I do miss the shires the countryside where I originate from. The Shires are counties in England, for example, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Befordshire, Herefordshire etc, all beautiful counties, green countryside and lovely. Don’t misunderstand, I love the USA and Illinois where we now live, but the Shires will never leave my heart and soul and I will always miss them – little villages, church steeples, fields of lambs and cows, hedges, twisty little roads etc – all stored in my memory, to take out from time to time. So that is my profile log in story. What a great idea to find out what these profiles mean to us – thanks Shelly. Linda
HI , i was wondering this too! Mine jojo is obvious its one of my nicknames as a kid for Billiejo, and of course there are other nicknames for it too, but one of my other favorites is doodoobird (not sure if thats spelled right) that my dad use to call me cause he said i was extinct(dont know if thats true),(his joking side) but jojo is easier and thats what the little kids all call me so it works! ,billiejo
Thank you guys for sharing..I can’t wait to hear other stories too. It is so funny how you get a picture or an idea in your mind just from a “tag” or name.
Thanks for humoring me guys. I am glad I’m not the only one that wonders about crazy things like this. 😀
I can’t believe you brought this up, Shelly! Just a day or two ago, I was trying to figure out what csmamma stood for and I never would have figured out nerakr!
Hvfth99 stands for Have Faith–my name is Faith and for as long as I can remember, people have been saying this to me when they hear what my name is. 99 is for the year I graduated college–not for Wayne Gretzsky’s jersey number, as my husband thinks 🙂
My name is Christy and H is the first intial of my last name. I know it wasn’t that original, but I couldn’t think of anything else. Although my name itself means follower of Christ. I like that part.
This is a neat thread! Mine is my name. Boring, I know. The FIAR message boards want you to use your real name, so I just got into the habit of using it on other boards.
