Printing Scheduled Items

I have scheduled several ‘summer’ items we are currently working on and also some of those we will begin in September. I see it all on the screen (in ‘scheduler’), but when I go to print a hardcopy it just prints the top portion of what’s shown on the screen and does not include any of the scheduled items entered. I am certain that I have printed this in the past, but for some reason it will not work right now. (could I be losing my mind?) I am using the print option shown on the screen, but I have tried the ‘file-print’ on my command bar. Help would be most appreciated. 😉

I just copy-pasted into MS Word and I’m thinking this is what I did last time. Am I missing something, though?…should I be able to print this information directly from the scheduler?

Hmm. Well, When I hit “print” on the page, then all the scheduled items that are on that day do print. I don’t have to copy and paste, so you shouldn’t have to do that. To be correct–these are things that ARE on the screen and that ARE scheduled for that day, when you print? If so then the techie people will definitely have to help out, but yes, you should be able to print the info directly.

As a stopgap in the meantime, try “file” then “print” but first highlight the area you want to print, and then when the print screen comes up, choose “selection” and see if that works until someone smarter than me can come help. LOL

What Web browser software and version are you using? (Internet Explorer version 6 or 7, FireFox, Safari, etc.)

Off of the Home page, I select organizer and in organizer there are four tabs at the top: bookfinder, scheduler, daily plan, and reports. I am wanting to print *all* the items that I have scheduled while on the ‘scheduler’ tab – not the day’s scheduled items in the ‘daily plan’ tab.

I did try highlighting the select area and then ‘file, print’ and it did work (thank you for the suggestion, Michelle) – however, I did just do ‘file, print’ without highlighting and it’s working that way now too (it was not printing this way before).

When I select the ‘print’ option shown right on the ‘scheduler’ tab screen, I get a yellow triangle with an exclamation in it and an “error on page” down at the bottom left corner.

I have Internet Explorer but I don’t know what version….sorry. If you tell me where to go to find out what version, I’m sure I can get you that information. We did just get a new Dell computer back in April, so I would expect that it’s the most recent version. (??)

Thank you both for your time.

ps: Since the ‘file, print’ works, I’m satisfied so please don’t put much more time into this Doug – but I bet, being in the profession you are, you will probably still want to figure out what’s happening. 😉

Uh oh, I think you’ve got me pegged. Of course I want to figure out what’s happening. 🙂

Just to clarify for everyone, highlighting portions of the page should not change the behavior of printing. Either way it should just print what is showing on the page.

The reason I asked about the browser version is because Internet Explorer version 6 doesn’t support the standards that allow us to make nicely formatted printouts. If you want to check your version, go to your Help menu and select About Internet Explorer.

If you see the yellow triangle again, try clicking on it to see if it gives you an error message. If there is one, it would be useful for us to know what it says.

    Got it.

O.k., I have version 7 …… not good, right? In other words, it would have been a closed case had it been version 6, right? Sorry. 🙁

I did get the yellow triangle again, but nothing happens if I click on it.

Thanks for the additional information. I can use that to try and make the same thing happen here.

Actually, I’m glad you have version 7 so I don’t have to convince you to upgrade. 🙂

<giggles> Doug, you need to come talk to my computer and tell it what’s up. LOL I have to use the highlighting trick a lot on websites, because if I don’t then my computer decides it is only going to print the top, or the sidebar, or the bottom of some web page and leaves the TEXT, which is what I wanted, unprinted. 🙂 My dh is always telling me just to click on the part of the page that I want, but that never works unless I select text. LOL Maybe my computer is a hardheaded rebel. I’ve often suspected this. 🙂
