Prayers needed for a homeschool family

A friend of 12yo ds needs prayer. Actually, so does her mom. My son met this girl (I believe she is 10) at a homeschool bowling event, and they very rarely get to see each other, but they talk on the phone. She suffers from a chronic disorder, so her mom has been homeschooling her. There have been frequent doctor visits and recent surgeries, and currently she is in the pain rehab center as an in-patient.

Well, tonight her mom told our local Yahoo group that staff members of this large, well-known clinic have told her that they do not think she has the qualifications to teach her daughter and that even an online public school is insufficient. These “bullies” told her that they intend to call in child protective services about this. (The hair on the back of my neck was rising as I read her message.)

I (and other members) advised her to contact the Home School Legal Defense Association about it. Please pray for the family as they face this situation.
