Ladies, times are tough for everyone. Things have been no different here. We have been blessed that at least each day my dh is working. We thank, praise and pray for and about this daily with out fail. Pay day is from week to week. If it’s not free we are not doing it. I had even posted about how to school w/o for the up coming year because 6 weeks ago I knew God was telling me we wouldn’t have the funds to buy anything this year.
Things just keep happening, new EPA laws that my dh has had to pay big $$ to stay working, his breaks went out, my van is shaking, our health insurance is going up, his workmans comp insurance is due, tabs just came today.. you get the idea.. one thing to the next. We’ve all been there or are there.
Today came a new blow my dh is self-employeed, but has to resort to working for a company for any type of work, though he is still self-employeed he has to work for what they are willing to pay or no work. Up till now, he though under paid, was working daily (as I said) and getting paid low for his trade but enough that we were fine and glad to have work. Today they said if he wants to keep working he’ll have to take less money. Honestly I don’t know how we are going to do it. I have cut back, we don’t drive if we don’t have to, I’ve uped our deductables to what I can, I haven’t bought anything new.
Please just pray that the Lord will help me to cut back more, to continue to give my dh work, find cheaper and still healthy meals, and that the string of breaks and bumps will end. And through this my dh is very stressed about coming up with the deductable for our new baby in October.
I keep trying to give him my strength but to be honest today my strength is at it’s breaking point. I don’t know what to say or how to keep on smiling. Please pray for my dh and our family.
Misty (Sorry to sob, vent, whine call it what you will but I just needed to let it out)
I’ve prayed for you too. We went through something like that a number of years ago so I can imagine the tension. I will continue to pray and please keep us updated as God works in your life.
I will keep your family in my prayers. You’ll find support here from women who know that you can educate your kids without buying new stuff for the coming year. I hope the situation eases for you soon. These are tough times.
We will pray for you. A couple of suggestions (that you may already do). 1) sign up for freecycle at yahoo for your area. I get a lot of home school stuff for my kids off of there. 2) Zwaggle.com is a good place to look for free things for kids. Clothes, toys, ect., 3) Get together with other HS moms in your area and see if you all can’t share resources. 4) do you have any special gifts like music, art, foreign lang? You could tutor for money and still be home with your kids. You could also sell things on ebay or craft type fairs if you do any handicrafts.
This might not seem like a logical idea to you, but my husband and I did it and if I could have done all three pregnancies I would have. Have you considered doing the birth at home. We had a birthing pool, but the tub would be just as effective, and it was wonderful. Plus it was significantly cheaper. We had a midwife throughout and she was awsome. Just and idea to help with fincances.
Praying for you! Such a rough time for you, and I can’t even begin to imagine. Know that God has something awesome up His sleeve, and soon you will know what it is!
Just prayed for you, Misty. Hang in there, God love you and will provide. Was just reading today how God provides for the birds of the air, etc. and how much more He’ll care for us. Blessings to you, Gina
Thank you all tears running down my face as I read your posts. I apprecate all your kind words and thoughts. I will try and keep you posted. He is networking for a new place or just somewhere he can work part time for the same pay as now so it isn’t just a burden. Pray that the networking will work. Misty
If you could post some of the items you may need for next year, it’s possible that some of us may have some things that we’re not using that would be available to you.
You certainly have my prayers, but if there’s a more concrete way that we can help I’d be glad to know.
hi—I also agree with christine that if you could post the items you need, we might have them –i know for myself i have lots in my basement not is use at the moment. My prayers are with you and your family!! Thanks for sharing the burden with others.
