I would appreciate the prayers of my friends here. Our family (all 6 of us – dd10, ds7, dd almost 4, ds16 months) leaves next Wednesday for a month long mission trip to Dominica in the West Indies. We will be partnering with the local church (have been for close to 10 years) and doing building, soup kitchen and ??? with the kids. We will get to enjoy the beautiful island a bit, but it is a definite working trip for the most part. We took dd10 and ds7 when they were younger and we’re really looking forward to it, but it will be a change nonetheless. Pray for God’s direction, wisdom and perfect will to be done.
Also, I found out today that dd almost 4 will need surgery on both eyes in June for esotropia. I know it is minor, but it doesn’t feel that way when it’s your little one. We’re not telling her until we return from the trip, but we’re hopeful it will help her depth perception, eye alignment and overall vision.

Will be praying for both your family’s adjustment on the trip and for your little one. I know how scary it is to have one that age going into surgery. I hope you will all be able to maintain peace through the entire situation.

I am so proud that you are taking your whole family on a mission trip! That is so awesome! I pray for your safety and for your mission.
How hard it must be to have your precious child to have to have surgery. May the Lord give you strength, courage, and peace during this time.

Chrisitie we will pray for safe travel, adjustment and a wonderful experience for you all on the mission trip – it is wonderful that you are doing this and I am sure it will be a blessing to all concerned. Will also pray for your daughter and her upcoming surgery, and pray that her eyesight is improved immensely by the procedure. There are no minor procedures when it is our own child….they are all major, lol-I pray for your peace of mind and your daughter’s acceptence of the procedure to improve her vision. God bless you all. Christie, your family is so precious! I admire so much (and am a tad jealous) your taking the whole family on an extended mission trip. What a fabulous opportunity! I have been praying for your sweet dd, even this morning while in the shower. ha! Our God is mighty to save, heal, and deliver. I am trusting Him to heal your baby girl in whatever way is most pleasing and glorifying to Him! And I am praying that your trip is also glorifying to Him and that many souls will give credit to your family’s willingness to share the Gospel when we all get to heaven!
