I found out last week that I will be fighting the right to homeschool my children before a Colorado judge on August 27th. Will you all hold us up in prayer: myself, my authorney, my children, the judge, etc. My husband filed for divorce and is now contesting homeschooling after almost 20 years of homeschooling. His lawyer is saying they will appeal the case if they loose.
I will also be praying. I am so sorry for what you are going through, Polly.
Just something for everyone else here to think about: Polly’s case will indirectly affect all homeschoolers. I have read stories of cases like this that HSLDA and other legal organizations have handled, and the outcome of such cases can be used for or against other homeschooling families in court. Also, cases regarding the right to homeschool sometimes bring up issues that spur on legislators to introduce bills that have the potential to erode our rights as parents and homeschoolers. We all have a vested interest in Polly’s case, and I urge everyone to pray earnestly and pray often for her.
I’m so sorry for all that you’re going through, Polly. I will definitely keep you, and those involved, in my prayers. Such a difficult time for you and the dc.
