I could use some prayers for peace ladies. I had an ultrasound today (19.5 weeks along – I’m halfway) and we’ve discovered that this baby has some challenges going on. What we know so far is that one or both feet are turned inward some (club foot), and that he has spina bifida to some degree. I go Thursday for a high level ultrasound and most likely an amniocentesis and genetic counseling. We know surgery will need to happen for the spina bifida at some point after birth. Right now I’m just praying for peace and calm as we begin to learn what we’ll be facing.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering – yes, it’s a boy! This is my 5th boy and he’s got two sisters and four brothers who are excited to meet him.
In spite of the challenges your little miracle will be facing, it sounds like he is coming to a very happy, loving home. Take each new piece of info as it comes. Blessings for you and each of your children. I pray God lets them each know how amazing and loved they are in your home and His.
“Father God, please wrap this family in your arms. We know that you are the Creator of life and the Lover of our souls, and that you are knitting this baby together in your image (Psalm 139:13-18). We know that you are Jehovah Rapha-our Great Healer (Matthew 14:35-36), and that nothing is beyond you (Luke 1:37). Touch this sweet baby with your healing hand, and hold his momma’s heart close to yours. Let her cling to you as her Strong Tower and her Refuge in time of need (Psalm 61:3). You are Mighty, and we praise you for this beautiful baby boy you’ve blessed this family with. Give his family rest (Matt.11:28), peace (Phil. 4:6-7), and perfect their faith (Hebrews 12:2), as you work through this pregnancy, and may your name be glorified through the process. In the name of Jesus, your son, our Savior and Redeemer,(1Cor. 27-30) AMEN”
We’ll keep praying! Keep your chin up, and your knees bent!
I will be praying for your peace of mind, this little baby is coming to a loving family who will do everything they can to make him a happy little boy – you will do fine, just pray, stay calm and love that little one, then all will be well. Blessings – Linda
Tristan, just wanted you to know I am praying for peace for you and your family. I have a cousin who had spina bifida and I understand a little of the fear and uncertainty you’re facing. Jesus sees that little boy, and you, and has you both gently held in his hand. ((hugs))
