Good morning. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We have had a quiet night in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. My husband has had a safe trip so far and will be returning to Jerusalem later today. We are thankful that no more rockets have been sent to the Tel Aviv area since yesterday morning. Unfortunately, the south is still being bombarded with many rockets and ceasefire talks failed again during the night. Ground troups are set to be sent in by the end of Tuesday if the rocket attacks on southern Israel have not stopped. Locals here do not want their soldiers sent in. They are in favour of the military operation but are reluctant to see a ground operation. There is much talking behind the scenes with the help of International leaders, trying to broker a peace agreement… so we all sit and wait, watch the news and try to continue our usual daily routine. But you know things are not “normal or usual” when your children wake up and say… “Good morning Mama. Any more rockets in the night?” But it is not said in fear because they know our God is bigger than all of this.
We have just had another rocket head towards Jerusalem. It landed in an open field just south of Bethlehem, about 5km from our house. Thankfully no one injured. We went running to our bomb shelter as the siren sounded, We heard the explosion and the kids are very nervous. Please pray for peace in their hearts. DH is at work in the Old City of Jerusalem and found shelter there.
It has been a terrible day with many many rockets in the south. Please continue to pray.
Oh Michelle, our family is praying. Baruch HaShem for all of your family’s safety right now.
Praying also for Shalom for all of you, G-dly discernment for those in authority there who must make the hard decisions, and supernatural protection for those in the south.
I wanted to share another resource. It’s Israel NAtional Radio. You can click on “radio” and Listen Live. The news on the site itself is also very informative. The newest one on there is that the IDF is dropping leaflets into Gaza, telling the civilians to leave. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/
@clay: I watched and teared up. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you ladies for your continued prayer and support. We have had a quiet day in Jerusalem, but other areas of the country have not been so fortunate. Tel Aviv had a bus bombing around noon today and the south of the country continued to be bombarded by missiles. Praise the Lord that there have been so few deaths and injuries during the past week when the violence really escalated.
As of 9pm Israel time (about half an hour ago) a ceasefire went into affect. Now we wait and see if Hamas will honour it. We pray it will be a lasting peace, and both Israelis and Gazans can return to “normal” life.
