  • Does anyone have a favorite source for poetry that you enjoy reading for leisure?

Do you mean books, websites, poets?  I usually just get the Dover poetry editions of poets that I like.

We have two of these books (the Emily Dickinson one and the Robert Frost) and I thoroughly enjoy them.  The kids love them too. They choose poems for their Book of Mottoes out of the book that contains poetry from the author we are studying.  Then I copy my favorites too.  I know they say they are for kids, but I like C.S. Lewis’ quote:  ðŸ™‚

“No book is really worth reading at the age of ten which is not equally – and often far more – worth reading at the age of fifty and beyond.”

Elizabeth Prentiss and Amy Carmichael have inspirational poetry that I like very much.

Bookworm, I was referring to a good poetry book to enjoy for my fireside reading this winter. 🙂

I mostly have children books for poetry, but it would be nice to have my own collection of some sort. Thanks for the suggestions!
