Would you wonderful SCMers please pray for my 5 year old son tomorrow? He has a doctor’s appointment due to daily symptoms that he is having that are suspect for blood sugar related problems. Since his uncle (my brother-in law) was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 10, this has me a little concerned. Here are his symptoms:
1. He wakes up with stomach pain and nausea most mornings, accompanied with headache, “shaky” feeling and feels like heart is pounding. This is currently causing him not to eat breakfast. (Which obviously makes him feel worse)
2. No matter how much he eats he can not seem to be satisfied. He wants a snack almost 30 minutes after a meal. He thinks and talks about meals constantly. Once he eats and eats, I eventually have to say no.
3. He has an unquenchable thirst. It’s a joke around the house that your drink is not safe if you leave it out in the open! We drink water at meals and they get water/apple juice mix 3 or 4 times a week. However, he has to have his own water bottle in the fridge daily that I fill up several times a day.
4. If we are out and about or on a trip and any meals have to wait more than two-3 hours, he is automatically crying with stomach pn, nausea and a headache.
I pray that God give me peace whatever the outcome. I just want him to feel better. Thanks!
Will be praying, you are doing exactly the right thing in having him tested, diabetes always needs to be checked with these kinds of symptoms. Wishing you all the best, and sending lots of prayers. Linda
Praying for you little guy, Brittney. My oldest daughter was diagnosed with high insulin last summer, but her numbers have dropped drastically with diet.
I want to thank every one of you for your prayers last night and today. His appointment went great! His glucose is perfect! He is not diabetic nor is his problem blood sugar related. We do have to make some dietary changes in regards to his nightime snack but that’s an easy fix! Also, we’ve got to get him on a better eating schedule. However, he is in excellent health! Thanks again. I felt so encouraged by so many believers lifting him up in prayer, on this forum and elsewhere. God Bless!
