Well…I haven’t really decided what to “go with” yet 🙂 I have borrowed Winston’s from a friend and will look it over. I was just very curious about KISS since it seems to be recommended by Ambleside Online and is FREE 🙂
Hope my post didnt sound rude. I was just following your thread, and I am thinking about Winston’s. Free is always appealing though! 🙂 Thank you for helping me see your thinking and, again, forgive my impoliteness.
On AO’s page entitled, “Ambleside Online: Some Notes About Grammar,” it says this:
Dr. Edward Vavra’s Grammar for Elementary and Up, which is available for free, is athttp://home.pct.edu/~evavra/KISS.htm but most members have had trouble actually figuring out how to use it, so AO no longer lists it as a resource on its booklists.
On that page, she is talking about the KISS website (that’s the link).
Well, at least I wasn’t the only one. Doesn’t it always make you feel better, when you feel dumb at not figuring something out, to find others in the “dumb room” wity you? LOL
HA! HA! HA! I have to say that the website is VERY intimidating! I accidentally left the page with the printable workbooks and had to just close the whole thing and start over with my bookmarked link!
I am liking the looks of Winston, btw. It does not use literature passages or make grammar very meaningful, but it does make sense and helps you really see what you are doing. It’s kind of like mathusee but with words and cards instead of numbers and blocks!
