I purchased and watched Planning Your Charlotte Mason Education and found it extremely helpful.  I am in the midst of planning out our 6 week on/1 week off schedule.  My question is…when planning a 12 week term, do I count the week that we are taking off?  I am thinking No, but want to double check…I am new at planning out this much in advance and new to the CM method…

    Thanks 🙂

I do count our weeks off because we are still doing educational things, learning is still happening, we are still reading, doing copywork, watching educational videos etc., I did not count full days though, only half days for that week.  I think it’s up to you if you decide to count the week or not

Count for what?  Count for you State legal requirements?  Yes, I would count them, assuming you are doing any learning at all (baking, cleaning house, going to the park, etc – all count to me!)

For planning purposes I would not include that week, as those resources will not be in use at that time.   I do however count those as days of school for attendance purposes if we are doing educational things like museums, etc.  Does that help?
