I have a charlotte mason term planner I developed for myself and others. I made 3 versions specifically for 1, 2 or 3 students. I also ask for your student’s names so I can type them into the planner (so you don’t have to). (wink, wink)

Christie and others using OneNote….how did that go last year? Before I get all crazy with it I want to get some feedback on how it worked for you. Thanks!
One Note has worked beautifully and is very flexible. I sometimes miss the CM Organizer and how it feeds just one day at a time with specifics, but we like seeing a week at a time. I like how I can tweak each week. It’s working well. No learning curve other than figuring out how you want it to work for you. My kids link narrations right back to the planner so it’s also a portfolio. I’m working on setting up a One Note notebook for dd14 for he coming high school years. I like having everything together – planner, portfolio, volunteer hours, transcript, etc. Hope that helps.
Janna- I found your planning book a while ago and then forgot about it and where to find it. I have since begun my own planner this year to go along with cm style. I liked the included cm help notes and the chores area for helping instill those habits 🙂
Missceegee- Thank you so much for all you docs you are willing to share. Although my dd will only be in 1st it was helpful to view a general setup
I find your OneNote screen shots immensely COOL! Thanks so much for sharing them…..so much fodder for the planning-loving-brain *L*
Are you required to show your portfolios to an evaluator? Do you just print out the attendance and other sections checklists then? How do you back-up your OneNote folder? (Or does it not need to be backed-up because it’s in that cloud thing?)
I’m trying to think through this and see if it would work in our home. I’m thinking it wouldn’t, simply because we all share one desktop computer. And my laptop is 8 years old – too old to be totally in-sync with the desktop computer.
Ha, I forgot I’d shared those screenshots. In FL, we are required to keep a portfolio. Having it evaluated by a certified teacher is one of our yearly options. I do individual testing with Brigance or Peabody instead mainly because it’s cheaper and easier. I am putting samples of their work (copywork, math, all written narrations, etc.) in the digital notebook and ditching the paper. The portfolios are for my use only in my case, but I have it should it ever be questioned. It does back up to the cloud.
For us, we are a pretty tech-y family and the kids do have their own computer, but even if that weren’t the case, One Note could work as long as you can download it onto your device (pc, laptop, or whatever). Then you could print checklists for the kids and you type it back in. I do this for dd7 and occ. for ds11. DD14 always and ds11 sometimes checkk off their own work on the computer and it stays in sync. We have One Note on 3 computers, 3 phones, 1 ipad. It’s working very well for us.
