    Hi guys.

Is anyone else keeping a spring Phenology or Calendar of firsts? Here is ours. I also included a pdf of the phenophases of some common street trees if anyone is interested. (hopefully the link works, it’s my first try at including pdfs) I would love it if someone would let me know if the pdfs links work.

The link works! However, I somehow got stuck once I went into it. My whole computer screen was filled with it with no tabs, back buttons, etc. showing. I tried “Esc” but that didn’t work and finally had to “Ctrl/Alt/Delete”…the blog post was only thing showing as running. Could be a “me issue”, lol! Anyway, I’m glad you posted that. I had just listened to a podcast that mentioned the “Calendar of Firsts” and was totally unsure what that was/looked like. You’re journal entry drawings/paintings are beautiful! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Thank you for your kind words.  I am so glad that it helped you visualize what a calendar of first/ phenology journal can look like.  I’m sorry to hear that the pdf was a little weird.  I will see if I can get it fixed.  Thank again for the feedback!

Last week I shared my method of keeping a Calendar of first/ phenology journal. This week I’d thought I’d share my other favorite method of simplifying nature journaling. A simple “species catalog” (fancy name for the cool stuff we saw). Hope it helps others to see nature journaling doesn’t have to to complicated 🙂
