This morning as I was reading in 2 Thess. I came across Paul’s final greetings and as I read I thought about all of you precious women.
16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you…18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
It struck me that we are all busy planning, searching, and asking questions about curriculum, schedules and life. And that is good. BUT we need to remember and be encouraged that GOD has a plan, he doesn’t have to search (HE KNOWS) what our children need and what we need. We can run to him and ask HIM what we should be doing and using and scheduling for our children…we just need to be willing to listen and let go of “our plans”.
I pray that the Lord’s peace will be upon all of us in every way. I especially pray this for those that are really going through tough and trying times with illness, lay off’s, chilren with illness. I lift you guys up in prayer even more. I am blessed to be able to pray for you and feel honored to know you..even if it is only over the computer. May you feel GOD’s grace and peace in special measure today.
Oh Shelly, what an encouragment you are to us here! Thank you for this timely reminder that God knows what our children need. May the Lord also bless you with more of His grace & truth.
Thank you, Shelly. I needed that reminder this morning too.
I love how that verse is worded in the Amplified version: “Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways, under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes.”
Shelly, thanks so much for your words of encouragement and prayers. I too pray for my ‘CM family’ (that’s what I call you guys!); seeing your post today reminded me of how important it is at times to TELL others we’re praying for them. The current times feel so unstable and insecure for so many people and I appreciate your reminder that God’s peace should reign in our hearts.
I am new to this forum. My friend told me she reads it every day. I have two boys, 8 and 9 years old. I am due for another the end of December. Praise God! I wanted to say that as I was journaling in my private time with the Lord, trying to get my schedule worked out, a peace came over me as I realized that He is my planner. I am working on making it a habit to ask Him what’s next each day. I have a rough outline for each day, but I am trying to be more flexible to His leading. He is more than capable of being our Good Shepherd- leading us through every hour of our day, isn’t He!
Thank you, Shelly! If ever I needed a reminder of peace, it was today. I am honored to be remembered in your prayers, and you prompt me to be better in remembering all of you in my prayers.
Yes! Sometimes I can get so stressed out over a schedule, it reminds me that I’m veering off God’s schedule and plan. When I let God lead the way, the stress eases, and life goes so much better. Yet, I continually try to meddle in His schedule and I stress myself out. I’m a slow learner!
Thank you for your beautiful words, spoken in kindness to people who need them.
Sonya, thank you for adding the Amplified version..I haven’t read that one. It’s very thorough in its description of when God’s peace is with us. I like that and sometimes I need it spelled out for me in those terms.
I am blessed that God was able to speak to all of you as He spoke to me. Now if only I can remember that as I am continuing to plan. 😕
Ladibechtel, welcome to SCM. This is a great forum to gain wisdom and insight from women who strive to honor God and spur one another to do the same. I am sure you will be blessed as I have been.
I don’t post very often here but I lurk almost daily. This group has so much wisdom to share and I think this forum blesses me more than any other forum. (Also, since we have dial up, it is the fastest to load on my screen — funny seeing the other thread about the page loading slowly. 🙂 )
These verses are timely for me as well as we are figuring out the best way to handle my 14 year old’s high school years. To remember to keep God at the forefront is a great reminder and that He is our peace in all ways and at all times! Awesome!
