I see that Library and Ed is having a sale on a set of 5 Patricia St. John books.  They are “revised.”  Does anyone know how or why they were revised?  I’m wondering if I should just seek out the old edition.

I actually just picked up one of these books at a library sale (not realizing I had an older version of the same book). It says that they are revised for the “modern child.” I only read the first paragraph in the books to compare and made a quick decision to donate the newer, revised copy. I read the paragraphs aloud to my kids (6 and 8) and they both preferred the unrevised. 🙂 It probably keeps the same general story but takes out or simplifies the beautiful writing and descriptions. We will be searching for the older, unrevised versions. Hope this helps.
