Pathway Readers for older children? (10yo+)

I got Pathway readers for my 2 children who are currently learning to read. We love them!  My oldest daughter basically taught herself to read at about 4yo. I really didn’t do much phonics work with her because she seemed to instinctively know how to read.   She still reads quite well at 10yo but I have noticed she will sometimes use a word she has read and will mispronounce it. She does use the word in correct context, it’s just the pronunciation that is lacking. So I thought maybe I should have her read from a pathway reader once a day like the others.

I’m unsure of where to start her. Does anyone know if the later level books are on “grade level” or if they run more or less difficult?

    Thanks!

My older child read all the Pathway readers. After a point he did not need them, he just enjoyed the stories. They are on grade level, but even if they are a bit easy, it’s great review.

I see Pathway readers mentioned quite often.  Do you use the workbooks/grammar/word study or just do narration after reading.  Do you just use for read aloud?  My ds 12 also tends to occasionally mispronounced words. Mostly he needs to slow down and work on enunciation in reading aloud.

I’m dating myself, but we purchased our set before the workbooks came out. I never saw the need for them, but that’s not to say they are not useful. My children read and narrated.

I am just using them for the child to read aloud to me. It just seems like a very easy way to keep track of their progress because of the way the set builds in difficulty. I do not have the workbooks and don’t plan on getting them at this time. 🙂  Just trying to figure out which book to have my 10yo start in since she didn’t start out with these. I guess I can just have her start somewhere and if it seems too simple then move ahead.

Tammy, I start her with her grade level book.
