Thanks, Misty.  I am going to try Google Calendar since I have gmail, but I do really like paper planners, and the one I currently have is so flexible, however cumbersome they may be at times.  As far as the school stuff, I’m loading everything back into the CMO.  It’s going to take a while and I’m kicking myself for not doing it all along, but live and learn.

What I’ve found is the books (of all kinds) we’ve read, I have no permanent place to record them.  Having a planner with a book log from year to year is fine, but it’s going to get unwieldly after a few years not knowing if I read a book, had them read it, or just thought about it.  I can see where the sort feature and reports for individual subjects and students is going to be a blessing over the long term.

    Anyway, thanks for your insight!

@Cindie, Could you just record them in a word doc.??  I used to type out all of what the boys do/did and just saved it, could go back and add books that we’ve read, etc.  Not suggesting that you don’t use the Organizer (I use it) but the word doc could be permanent, right??  I can’t do paper anymore, except a reg. calendar for bills/events, and such, but to keep a “school planner” on paper or notebook would make me crazy.  I already have too many papers to manage and would want that too.  I love how with the Organizer once I put it there, it’s there, period.  I don’t have to remember….well, you know what I mean.

Best wishes at finding what works for you.

You know, that’s what I’ve run into.  Papers, papers everywhere!  Thanks for the word.doc suggestion.  Smile
