We have yet to start doing any copywork. This being our first week homeschooling we are slowly adding things in and seeing how to fit them into our days, etc. I am using Handwriting without tears and he’s so used to writing within a big space so was wandering when we start copywork what kind of paper should I be using for a first grader who still needs a lot of guidance with his handwriting?

I use the paper here or here.  The first link has some HWOT paper plus some regular primary lined stuff in varying sizes.  The second link has a bazillion types of paper.  My third son is using the yellow stripe paper right now as he transitions from HWOT to ‘normal’ paper.

I use the Hilroy brand of notebooks that you can find at Walmart.  The lines are adaptable even for Penny Gardners Italics, and there are even notebooks that have half of a page blank and half lined.  Perfect for picture and narration for the younger ones!

I print copywork using the StartWrite software. Lots of options!
