Thorton Burgess has a seashore book, not sure if it is specific to one coast or the other. Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott Odell, maybe. Not specifically seashore but takes place on an island off the west coast. I will ask my daughter when she wakes up. She loves reading nature books, maybe she remembers one about the seashore.
