You can make toothpaste out of coconut oil and baking soda. I have added essential oils and stevia to that mix to make it more palatable. Also, I’ve added powdered calcium and Vitamin K. I posted a link above for a tooth powder that I’m trying. I made a small batch to give it a whirl, and I’m actually like it so far. It’s a little gritty, but it tastes just fine, even without xylitol added. Other products to consider making yourself:

    deodorant

    shampoo/rinse

    mouthwash

    soap

    laundry soap/dish soap/dishwasher detergent

    makeup

    lotion

    Saves lots of money too!

This is not adding any advice to the OP, but I just wanted to rave about one of my Christmas gifts this year.  A friend of mine has begun to make her own household & personal hygiene products in the past several months, and she made gift baskets for some of us.  Mine included citrus bath bomb fizzies, peppermint-citrus body butter, lavender frankincense deodorant, peppermint cocoa lip balm, bars of honey oatmeal soap, a beeswax candle in a jar, and some hand-dipped yogurt-covered pretzels.  Everything was made from organic ingredients and pure essential oils.

    I feel so pampered….Cool
