I was never much of a morning person. However, once I had my thyroid issues resolved and started eating better and drinking more water my energy levels are better and I can usually make myself get up. I also don’t have any babies anymore. The youngest is 5.
I usually get up at 6:00 when my hubby does for work. We really don’t need the alarm but he usually sets it just in case. I do my personal devotion time which is about half an hour and then I exercise. I could shower then, but if we don’t have any plans that day out of the home or not until later, I wait.
I then try to check emails, switch laundry(I load it the night before and set the timer so it’s done by 6am),take care of the dog, see my hubby off with his smoothie and coffee, check my dinner prep needs, and enjoy the quiet.
Kids have to be up and morning chores done and ready for breakfast at 8:30. We do our Bible together during breakfast, go right into whatever is in the guide for SCM that day together and then independent/mother guided the rest of the morning.
I will shower around 11:00/11:30 so I am fresh for errands or visitors the rest of the day and for hubby when he gets home. If I tried to fit in the shower early morning I would either have to get up even earlier or do less in the morning. Neither of those options seems very appealing to me!
I usually am in bed at 10 although I do admit to reading till 10:30 or so some nights! Seven hours is really good for me. I can do six hours of sleep but eventually it catches up with me.
