Completely random questions I know, but really. On the perfect day what time do you get up in the morning and feel the best? I’ll start, for me I need to get up at 6:30 at the latest to get my devotion done, coffee in my belly, and a load of laundry started. In all actuality 6 am is better because then I can shower can get dressed also.

Side note: the kids (even if they are awake) are not allowed out of their rooms until 7am. DD (4) is awake at 6:30 almost every day so she goes potty and reads books until it is 7. D’S (2.5) is in a crazy sleep until 8:30 cycle which mean I can do some learning with DD before he gets up.

Awful question!! *L*  I feel really good if I can get up at 6:45.  6:30 is even better.  But it’s hard!!! I’m in the bad habit of laying awake, reading until 11:00 or 11:30 pm.  Bad habit.  But the house is quiet then!

I am up at 5:20 – 15-20 minutes of devotions/bible reading, either a 6 minute or 12 minute of high intensity workout, time to freshen up, and if all goes well out of my bedroom by 6:30 to have time to check emails, and clean up left over items from the night before on my desk.  I am in bed by 8:45ish-9 every night and I am asleep 90% of the time by 9:45.  (Mind you my dh is up at 4:20 so I am already programed to hear him so that last hour of sleep isn’t supper hard.)

I’m a night owl.  Currently, I set my alarm for 7 and usually wake up 10-20 mintues before it goes off.  By times, I sleep in until 8 or 8:30.  Embarassed  Luckily my younger DC sleep in as well (usually at least until 9).  Right now, I’m 10 weeks pregnant and totally exhausted so I’m asleep by 10:30 or 11.

We milk cows so I’m up early whether I want to be or not. It’s easy in the summer but when it’s dark or raining/snowing its so HARD!

My problem is at night, I stay awake too late reading or watching tv with husband till 11:00-12:00 then I wake up naturally around 6:00-6:30ish because of bladder not well rested!! LOL So, it works out since I can take care of animals & get dressed before kids roll out of bed around 7:30-8. So far working for this family since I rarely ever sleep long enough to be awaken with an alarm.

5:15.  Every day.  To bed at 10.  Days are long but the years fly by!

Yeah, I’m letting chickens out at 6:30 when they start getting restless, we don’t want them to bother the neighbors since technically whe aren’t allowed to have them. Even though 3-4 houses on out 16 house street have them.

I set my alarm for 3am to wake one of my ds to go potty, then it’s reset for 5:30.  I give myself until 5:45 to get out of bed (sometimes 6am).  Our dc wake up at random times, but have to be up by 7am (if they’re not already awake) during the school year. During the summer, I don’t usually care what time they wake up.

I don’t get home from work until 1200 midnight and I try to be in bed by 1230 so I can get 7 hours of sleep.  Up at 7:30.  My kids get up before me 6:30 or 7:00 and do all their chores and breakfast before I get up.  (suppose to anyway).  When we start formal school again in August we start school at 8:00 but in the summer it is more relaxed.

Twice a week I meet a friend to run at 6:45…so those days I get up at 6 for my quiet time. I am really trying to work in one more weekday of that. I have had a lot of fatigue issues this past two years, though, so I cut myself a break on the other days: usually wake at 7. We are ready for school at 9. And on those days I have to be very intentional about reading my Bible at night ;0).

We are pretty lax, comparatively. I *try* to get up by 7:30. We’re all up and have morning chores (beds made, bodies washed and dressed, etc) done by 8am when “Your Story Hour” comes on the radio. We eat breakfast to it then start the rest of our day at 8:30ish. We’ve gotten on this schedule for summer and are going to keep it all year. Last year we were still groggy well into the morning (10:00, 11:00) so this is getting us up an at ’em much earlier. We do struggle with getting to sleep early though…. these long Alaskan summers are so draining, but then we hibernate all winter! 🙂

Oh – I love Your Story Hour! What a great way to start the day :).

I grew up on the notion that getting up early was absolutely necessary – but I have come to believe that you should do what works for you and your family. It really is an individual thing, and if you are productive and happy getting going at 10am, then why not?

I draw the line at noon, though :)….

Hubby and I don’t get to bed til 11-11:30 then I’m up by 7:00-7:15. I do sleep in until 8 ish if super tired. Kids sleep 9/9:30 to 8/8:30. I WANT to be a morning person, I really do. But I love to read for awhile at night after the news. I would love 10:30 p.m bedtime and 6:30 wake up. I feel most rested if I’m in bed by 11 and up at 7.

I need a better routine.  I go to bed at about 11:00pm and I wake at about 6:30-7:00am.  I will get up and feed the outside animals and then turn on the computer, really need to use this time to be in the Word.  The problem is that i’m never rested fully I wake up when my Dh comes to bed, the cat wakes me up, and I wake up to go to the bathroom at least once a night, lol.
