My dh works a very physical job.  He installs carpet and uses his body daily.  I would say over 85% of the time he is well and no issues but when he does it seems to be super unbareable to him.  I am a natural remedy person by nature and I hate when laying in bed I hear that jar of over the counter tylenol it just makes me cring.  I rub his back and try and help.  But although I know non of you are doctors and your suggests are just advice (the disclaimer) what could I do or try to help during those times when it’s just crazy sore?

I heard about castor oil packs and also wondered if anyone had ever used this for inflammation?  Oils that are good? Even a more natural tylenol idea would be better than the OTC ones.  Thanks ladies Misty

Do Terra has a Deep Blue oil or cream that works well, but it is expensive. I have used homeopathic pain reducers that dull the pain.

Arnica gel works well as a rub on for soreness, bruises and swelling. I just find mine in the natural section of the grocery store.

Magnesium for sore muscles taken orally and soaking in it such as Epsom Salt!

I really like the Spark Naturals brand of essential oils. They are high quality but without the price tag of the MLMs like Young Living and DoTerra. They have a blend similar to DoTerra’s Deep Blue. It’s called Amend. I LOVE it for my sore muscles after the gym. Also a magnesium bath or oil spray may be helpful for him too.

Thanks ladies!  Also for another recommendation for a good oil.  the two you mentioned Lindsey are good and have some great premixed ones but OUCH they hurt the budget and it’s hard if you can’t for see being able to buy from them each time.

Misty, Spark Naturals isn’t a direct sales company with multi-level marketing. It’s just a small essential oils company. You can buy from them any time. For the price-per-oil, I really like this kit: http://sparknaturals.com/index.php/kits/health-wellness-kit.html

You get 10 oils, and the price ends up being $8.25 per 5mL bottle, as opposed to paying $24.99 for one bottle of Amend. You get the Amend blend in the kit, but you also get two other blends and seven other oils.

I have found magnesium oil for less than $8 a bottle at health food stores. This bottle lasted me over six months: http://www.amazon.com/Life-flo-Pure-Magnesium-Oil-Ounce/dp/B004NHN9OA
