I am wondering if it is the shea butter(sometimes I use it, sometimes I don’t) or if it does that w/just the coconut as well?? March 5, 2013 at 1:18 pm momto2blessingsParticipantWe’ve used it for a couple years or so and no stain issues. I just use coconut oil from Walmart. Since we’re not eating it I’m not so picky:) March 5, 2013 at 2:10 pm dmccall3ParticipantMy DH makes his own with coconut oil and at first it stained his clothes then he started putting less of the deodorant on at a time and it worked just as well without staining. Hope that helps! March 5, 2013 at 4:11 pm QueenMamaMemberI haven’t had a problem with staining. I love my homemade deodorant. March 5, 2013 at 5:07 pm BritneyMemberI would love your recipes! March 5, 2013 at 5:35 pm petitemomParticipantI might be putting on too much! This is my recipe Britneyhttp://creatingnaturally.com/homemade-moisturizing-deodorant-that-works-and-goes-on-smoothly-make-it-yourself-monday/There are other recipes out there w/out the bees wax but it tends to get pretty liquid in the summer.I use half the baking soda and replace w/arrow root, too much baking soda can be irritating. March 5, 2013 at 5:40 pm momto2blessingsParticipantWe use this simple recipe, only 3 ingredients: http://www.passionatehomemaking.com/2013/01/homemade-all-natural-deodorant.html. But I’m interested in the beeswax, thanks for sharing! Ours does liquify in the summer. It’s not a huge deal to us, but I may try adding that!! March 5, 2013 at 8:32 pm PollyParticipantWhen I put too much on I get stains. It only takes about the size of the head of the pencil eraser. I can even go several days without putting anything on. It works very well. March 6, 2013 at 6:07 am BritneyMemberThanks! March 13, 2013 at 2:53 am AnonymousInactiveThanks for sharing this recipe for deodorant. My teenage son is complaining about his deodorant and I want to create our own which I think is a healthier alternative. March 13, 2013 at 3:43 am petitemomParticipantYour welcome. We(my husband and I) find it works much better than any natural deodorant you could buy. And pretty easy to make. I just use 2 large empty stick. The recipe makes enough for that. September 11, 2014 at 2:15 am missceegeeParticipantI made my own for a year and it worked fairly well, but I tired of making it and went looking for something different. I have been using the Pit Putty Cream from Bubble and Bee and this stuff is terrific! Just throwing it out there for a consideration. Not as cheap as making your own, but easier and more effective for me. September 11, 2014 at 3:28 am pangitParticipantmissceegee, how long does a container last for you? September 11, 2014 at 3:34 am missceegeeParticipantThe trial size lasted 2 weeks or so each. The large is supposed to las a year. I’ve just ordered it. September 11, 2014 at 1:50 pm gcbsmommyParticipantI have never had better results with a deodorant than with the recipe found on the bulkherbstore.com website. You can find it in their search box by looking for “natural deodorant recipe”. It is fantastic, even without the bentonite clay, which might stain clothing. I have had no staining and I have never used anything that works so well.Viewing 15 posts - 1 through 15 (of 19 total)1 2 →The topic ‘OT: homemade deodorant again’ is closed to new replies.
