I’m seeking advice from veteran users of natural cleaning products. I’ve been using white vinegar with a few drops of tea tree oil to clean my toilet bowl, occasionally adding a drop or two of peppermint oil to cut the scent of the vinegar & tea tree oil. It cleans well, but I find that after a couple of days, there is an orangey residue on most of the areas under water. We never had this occur before, so I’m wondering why this is happening. Do I just need to clean it daily or every two days now that I’m not using the chemical/bleach products?

What do you all think? Anyone experience this?

I’ve used vinegar in the past but have never had the orange residue.  However, I usually use it with baking soda.  I like the foam Laughing and the baking soda helps to scrub.

I’d say it’s the water (meaning junky city water issues), but if it’s never happened before then I don’t know.  I usually scrub it once a week…sprinkle with baking soda and scrub.  Sometimes I rinse with vinegar and sometimes not.

Maybe I’ll try it with baking soda a few times and see if that makes a difference.
