I had some greasy build-up on the underside by my stove and also on top of the sofits (I think that was steam from cooking and general dust) which I used LA’s Awesome Orange from the Dollar Tree. It’s super harsh so wear gloves and ventilate, but it cuts through grease quick and does a good job. If I had cleaned sooner, I probably could have used something less harsh, but this stuff is a buck and works really well.
I have used Target’s brand of Clorox wipes to easily and effectively clean the greasy build up off the hood and back of my stove. They are also great on my painted cabinets (they don’t make the paint peel like some cleaners). However, if you have white painted cabinets like I do, with some stains, the best way to clean old drips is a hot damp cloth with a touch of Dawn dish soap.
Thanks for the suggestions, even if I’m not the one who asked. I’ve been avoiding the grills on my fas stove because of all the old grease that doesn’t want to come off. I’m going to try a few of these and see if they work better.
I assume they are wood but I don’t know. It’s a 6yo house with builder grade cabinets.
They haven’t had a good scrub in over a year (okay 2) so they need some love!
Thanks.
We have white cabinets so the outsides get wiped down once a week. I use regular old all purpose cleaner, which right now is Mrs Myers that is diluted with water. Sometimes it is Dr Bronners, just depends what I have on hand. Works great. I am not a fan of nasty chemicals and all products are going to require so muscle so I figure I might as well use ones that I can breathe in with out choking.
