We are thinking of going camping with our kids after all the other kids are in school for 2 fold – less people camping and cheaper rates. We were thinking it would be fun to drive to WI Dells for a weekend and stay at one of the campgrounds with a little bit of everything. Has anyone gone or have experience in that area for camping? I look online and there are a LOT of options and they all have a lot to offer for camping. Now I know this wouldn’t be ‘camping’ as they all have pools, etc. but we do that other camping all the time and can’t do the extra fun things. These campgrounds would be like vacationing to us vs. camping other than we’d have our travel trailer. Let me know what you think! Thanks Misty
I hope someone can answer specifically about places they’ve stayed, but just wanted to say, we go to the Dells every winter/spring to a timeshare & have a blast while everyone else is in school. Great idea camping instead! It is a beautiful area, and there are plenty of nature walk opportunities. 😉
I live 40 minutes away from the Dells, and while having never camped there we have stayed at one of the resorts for reduced rates. They are so much fun! The area is beautiful and the duck rides on the WI river are great. (the Duck rides are old army vehicles that were used in WWII; they can go on land and water hence the duck name. If you want more info you can pm me.
WE just live in MN so not far, but wanted to camp. I was looking at something like Yogi Bear or Mt. Olympis, these both have a lot to do, and all camping prices include the attractions. Also going off season is cheaper in itself.
I know you said camping, but…great wolf lodge has very AWESOME discounts for homeschoolers. And since you are going during regular school does/hours, the rate should be available. Seriously I was SHOCKED by how totally affordable the prices were AND it includes watermark passes for everyone! Totally worth checking into IMHO!
