I was thinking I’d like to get my 10yo daughter some body sprays or perfume-type things for Christmas. I really hate to get something from a typical store (Walmart / dept. store / etc.) because of the chemicals. Do any of you know of anywhere to get something “safe”?
Lavender hydrosol. And while yes I raise lavender that is why I know about it. Depending on where you live, there are a lot of lavender growers in the US now. You could google it and find farms that sell it. The best part is that it is just water from the steam distillation of the buds for essential oil. It has the essence of the plant. The more “perfumy” lavender smell comes from grosso and you will see it sold as such or as x-intermedia. The English lavenders have an earthy smell to them.
You could find other scents the same way. Hydrosol is a great product and not all the chemicals.
I recently discovered the essential oil “sunshine” from Heritage Essential Oils. It smells wonderful. Just one drop on the wrist is all it takes. I’m not a big perfume person, but have used this some in the past month or so. You could maybe find any essential oil you like and use it that way.
I just waded through several pages of VitaCost’s “fragrance and perfume” stuff. And rose water was one thing I put in my cart. I’ll check out the lavendar hydrosol and the essential oils, too.
A roll on essential oil would be a good fit for a young girl IMO. Well, for any age really. They aren’t so overpowering and you get the benefits of the essential oil. 🙂
This is one company I know of that has some but I’m sure there are many others.
