I was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls from age 12 until receiving my majority.  I learned so many wonderful things and gained a lot of experience that has been invaluable to me throughout my life.  Are any of you former Rainbow Girls?

I have often wished there were something similar in my new area, and even looked into beginning an IORG
Assembly here, but the more i’ve read about Freemasonry the more leary I am of being involved with one of their affiliate organizations I would love to know if there is a similar type organization for girls (or boys) that is not affiliated with the Masons, or if any other former Rainbow Girls have wished there were.  (I may be completely alone in this, and that wouldn’t be a first.)

I had never heard of IORG before, so I’m not so sure how similar it is, but how about 4-H?  My kids LOVE their 4-H club.  Laughing

Thanks for your suggestions, but 4h would have almost nothing in common with Rainbow Girls, though I’m sure it’s a fine organization for teaching leadership and public speaking.  IORG is strictly for girls and run primarily by the girls within the framework of the orders constitution and jurisdictional by-laws.  Adult supervision is provided by an advisory board.
